THE DUKES OF HAZZARD RETURNS TO GEORGIA
Carrollton based Mix International Media to produce TV special and DVD celebrating the 30th anniversary of iconic television series

Carrollton based Mix International Media and Executive Producer, Richard Mix in partnership with John and Elly Schneider and Dukes Fest, Inc., are proud to announce the production of a two-hour television special and DVD release celebrating The Dukes of Hazzard 30th Anniversary.

The Duke boys are coming back to Georgia …where it all began… for the “Dukesfest” annual convention and Hazzard County Fair at Atlanta Motor Speedway June 28th and 29th – more then 150,000+ people are expected to be in attendance.  Most of the production for this project will take place at this event.  The original series was filmed in and around Atlanta so it’s only fitting that the celebration takes place right where the show began.

Duke’s star John Schneider (“Bo Duke”) sought out Mix International Media to produce this project after a successful collaboration on last year’s thriller film CONJURER.  Mix was responsible for bringing CONJURER to west Georgia and Schneider starred in the film.  “I always look forward to coming back home to Georgia and am excited to once again work with Richard and his team,” said Schneider.

This production comes on the heels of Governor Purdue’s recent signing of the Georgia Entertainment Industry Investment Act (H.B. 1100), which substantially increased tax credits and incentives for film, TV series, music video and video game production companies.  State Film Commissioner Bill Thompson applauds news of this production and stated, “Richard has worked for many years towards helping build the film industry in west Georgia.  It is great to see these efforts paying off.  I am a big fan of The Dukes of Hazzard and cannot think of a more fitting partnership.  We are pleased to have the Duke boys back in Georgia.”

Marietta attorney and film producer Sam Hensley, Jr. will produce the TV special along with Atlanta film icon and Cedartown resident Shay Bentley-Griffin.  Mr. Hensley also serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Georgia Ballet and Ms. Griffin was Ben Jones’ (“Cooter Davenport”) agent during filming of the original Dukes of Hazzard TV series.
